ART DECO CZECH WALL MASK 'THE SCREAM' or 'THE HIGH NOTE'
Rare Art Deco stylised wall mask of a woman with stylish hair and bright red lips.
This is often referred to as 'the scream', after Edvard Munch's iconic painting, but I feel that her face would be more contorted if she was screaming and that really it is a much more pleasant subject. She is simply singing! Therefore I am naming this wall mask 'The High Note'.
The factory that produced this design is still unknown. I am yet to find a marked example. It is often referred to as Royal Dux, but I feel this is simply trying to give a famous name to this great looking piece.

Condition | Good condition with several factory imperfections. We have sold Art Deco wall masks for many years and these imprefections are quite common. A tiny dimple on her nose, but the glaze drips into this so it is in the making. The same for two 'scoops' out of the back rim. Both are factory flaws and not later damage |
