OSIRIS ART NOUVEAU PEWTER TAZZA WITH CLUTHA GLASS LINER
£1,850
Polished pewter Art Nouveau tazza, or compote, designed by Freidrich Adler for the Osiris range of pewter. Normally this design is found with a green or a milky yellow glass liner. This is very unusual item as it has a 'Clutha' glass liner. Clutha was a range of glass made by James Couper of Glasgow. Liberty & Co are known for using Clutha glass liners in Archibald Knox designs and a few other Liberty pewter items. The frame must have been bought by Liberty and the glass liners commissioned from the Couper factory.
